COLOMBIA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit Colombia early Saturday morning and then a couple of hours later a 6.9 quake rocked the Santa Cruz islands.
Both quakes did not generate a tsunami threat to Hawaii.
The Santa Cruz quake in the South Pacific hit at 11:02 a.m. HST.
The earthquake in Colombia struck around 4:16 a.m. HST. There were no serious injuries or major damage were reported.
An 8.0 magnitude earthquake jolted the Santa Cruz Islands Wednesday leaving at least five people dead and dozens of homes damaged or destroyed.
