Investment Management Consultants Association members optimistic about 2013 economic and stock market prospects
Denver, CO (PRWEB) February 05, 2013
Savvy financial professionals know that Investment Management Consultants Association®(IMCA®) conferences deliver some of the best content to help understand the industry’s changes and deliver quality service to clients. Approximately 900 investment advisors and wealth managers will hear from thought leaders and industry experts at IMCA’s sold out New York Consultants Conference at the New York Marriott Marquis Monday and Tuesday, February 4–5.
This year represents the first time since 2009 that the conference is sold out, which may be in part thanks to IMCA members’ near-term expectations: 79 percent of members surveyed in January 2013 believe the economy will grow and 82 percent believe the stock market will rise in 2013.
Conference presenters and session titles include:
Ian Bremmer, PhD, Eurasia Group. A generation after communism's collapse, the future of free market capitalism isn’t what it used to be. Bremmer, expert on the impact of politics on market performance, kicks off the conference with a look at the rise of state capitalism and its long-term threat to relations among nations and the future of the global economy.
- Fear and Indecision: Sounds Like a Bull Market. Former Merrill Lynch chief investment strategist Richard Bernstein explains why the U.S. stock market is in a classic bull phase, consisting of fear and indecision instead of wine and roses.
- Robert C. Pozen, JSD, JD, Harvard Business School. Pozen, financial expert and author of the new book, Extreme Productivity, will look back at the fiscal cliff saga and discuss how the changes implemented will ripple through the financial services industry.
- Lies My Finance Professor Told Me. Andrew Lo, PhD, MIT Sloan School of Management. Professor Lo will examine the tenets of modern finance theory that have been challenged in recent years.
