NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The University of Hawaii women's basketball team (10-10, 6-3 BWC) evened its overall record and took sole possession of second place in the Big West with a 65-53 win at Cal State Northridge (11-10, 5-4 BWC) at the Matadome on Saturday afternoon. Junior forward Kamilah Martin recorded her seventh double-double of the season with a team-high 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead a quartet of Rainbow Wahine with double-figures in points.
The win gave head coach Laura Beeman her 400th overall win—390 at the helm of junior college, Mt. San Antonio and now 10 at Hawai'i. Shawna-Lei Kuehu added 15 points and five rebounds off the bench, while Ashleigh Karaitiana chipped in 14 points.
Hawaii will stay on the road to face Long Beach State on Thursday, Feb. 7 and UC Irvine on Saturday, Feb. 9.
