RIVERSIDE, CA – Rainbow Warriors forward Christian Standhardinger
said his team finally learned what it took to win on the road after they
notched their first win of the season away from the Stan Sheriff Center
Saturday night at UCSB.
In the first half against Riverside Thursday night, it
looked like they had forgotten already.
The ‘Bows trailed by as many as 14 points before
intermission. However, using strong
performances from Vander Joaquim, Brandon Spearman and Standhardinger, Gib
Arnold's club pulled even—then away---in the 2nd half, notching an
impressive 72-68 win.
The victory moved UH to 6-4 in conference, 12-9 overall.
Standhardinger notched a double-double, scoring a game high
23 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.
Spearman scored 15 points, while Joaquim chipped in with 10.
UH will complete its 4-game road stretch Saturday night at
Cal State Fullerton.
