RIVERSIDE, CA – Rainbow Warriors forward Christian Standhardinger said his team finally learned what it took to win on the road after they notched their first win of the season away from the Stan Sheriff Center Saturday night at UCSB.
In the first half against Riverside Thursday night, it looked like they had forgotten already.
The ‘Bows trailed by as many as 14 points before intermission. However, using strong performances from Vander Joaquim, Brandon Spearman and Standhardinger, Gib Arnold's club pulled even—then away---in the 2nd half, notching an impressive 72-68 win.
The victory moved UH to 6-4 in conference, 12-9 overall.
Standhardinger notched a double-double, scoring a game high 23 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Spearman scored 15 points, while Joaquim chipped in with 10.
UH will complete its 4-game road stretch Saturday night at Cal State Fullerton.
