(Hawaii News Now) - Longtime fans may recognize the Hawaii Five-0 "Hookman" episode from 1973, in which an amputee with prosthetic hooks carries out a deadly vendetta against HPD. The show actually won an Emmy for music composition. Peter Weller, of "Robocop" fame, is playing the villain. Executive producer Peter Lenkov says his version will remain true to the original--but will still have a modern feel.

Ledward Kaʻapana: someone whom the NEA named one of just nine National Heritage Fellows in 2011, and whose family is renowned among Hawaiian music lovers,  plays Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley today, Freight & Salvage in Berkeley Friday and Club Fox in Redwood City Saturday, then at Live at the Cue in Concord on Feb. 15 and the Dance Palace in Point Reyes Feb. 16, before he heads north for shows in Eugene, Portland and Seattle.

Jake Shimabukuro has something new; itʻs called the USB Ukulele! Itʻs a USB flash drive with instructions on how to download any Jake live set from his most recent tour.; this is great if you wished you could have heard Jake on tour or heard the show you attended or pick another city if you wish! Expected release date tomorrow!
