WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A single bar of ice cream has landed a man in hot water. Honolulu police officers arrested a 30-year-old man Wednesday morning for allegedly stealing ice cream from someone's home.
According to police, the suspect walked into the garage of a house on McCorriston Street near Diamond Head in Waikiki shortly after 12:30 a.m. The man opened the freezer in the garage and took an ice cream bar, but he was caught when the homeowner's dogs began barking.
The homeowner confronted the thief, who provided his name and apologized for trying to steal the ice cream. Police officers were called and stopped the suspect about a block away from the house. They arrested him without incident for burglary.
