(Hawaii News Now) - Dr. Kanahele edited and published Hawaiian Music and Musicians in 1979 – a comprehensive one volume encyclopedia on Hawaiian music. In 2000, Dr. Kanahele and John Berger began working on a second edition. Dr. Kanahele died unexpectedly 4 months later but John Berger decided to continue the work. 12 years later, Hawaiian Music & Musicians 2nd Edition was finished. The new book has updated entries from the first book and new entries as well.
