HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An owl is safe tonight after spending nearly 20 hours stuck, hanging in a tree near the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
Rescuers hiked through brush to find the owl caught in some ropes, hanging from the tip of its wing this afternoon.
Lindsey Gibson, who lives in the area said she thought she saw a white bag fly into the tree last night. But today, it turned out to be the owl flapping around. The caller's fiance led a Honolulu Fire Department crew through the brush where they were able free the owl.
Thankfully, the owl was just dehydrated and hungry. It was not injured and should be released from Aloha Animal Hospital in a few days.
