On Jan. 24, 2013, northern Palm Beach County’s finest will turn out for a night of wine sipping, food sampling, silent auctioning and socializing during the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival annual kickoff.
The popular event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at STORE Self Storage and Wine Storage, a unique facility on a swath of Palm Beach Gardens real estate off PGA Boulevard. The venue has served as the site of the official kickoff party for several years and will be offering tours of its state-of-the-art building.
The highlight of the official kickoff party is the unveiling of this year’s ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival commemorative poster. The unveiling is slated for 7:30 p.m. The artist who created the poster will be participate in the ceremony and will talk about the inspiration behind the design. The artist also will sign copies of the poster, proceeds of which benefit arts education in local schools.
The official kickoff party not only offers its guests an evening of fun, it also raises awareness of the work that goes in to the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival, which is produced by the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce. Abacoa, an upscale community in Jupiter and one of the top sellers at Waterfront Properties and Club Communities, stages the three-day event on its beautiful streets and sidewalks, where more than 300 juried artists will set up their booths, and 100,000-plus visitors will spend hours browsing and buying.
Abacoa boats a variety of Jupiter homes for sale, including townhouses, plus a network of wide bicycle trails, serene walking paths and beautiful nature preserves. It also has a golf course and is the home of Roger Dean Stadium.
This year marks the 28th for the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival. On Feb. 16, 17 and 18, Abacoa will come alive with fine art, children’s activities, live entertainment, demonstrations by artists and art contests.
Because there are so many things to do at the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival, volunteers are needed to ensure a successful and memorable event. According to the Chamber, more than 1,200 volunteers are needed.
Several volunteer opportunities are available, including the ArtiKids area, the ArtWall display, parking lots, the Artist Relations booth, information tents and merchandise store.
All volunteers will receive such perks as a T-shirt, admission to the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival on the day they volunteer, premium parking, and free food and drinks in the volunteer-staging area. For information, call 561-748-3946.
