Miller-Valentine Group is rebuilding an apartment community in Joplin that was destroyed by the torndado in 2011.
Joplin, MO (PRWEB) January 23, 2013
Miller-Valentine Group is excited to participate in the rebuilding and revitalization of Joplin. This 84-home family community will bring high quality, affordable housing to the area. Hampshire Landing is located in the epicenter of the destruction caused by the EF5 tornado in May of 2011. The symbolism this rebuilding represents is as important as the homes the new community will provide.
Hampshire Landing is located on 20th Street between New Hampshire and Rhode Island Avenues in the heart of Joplin where a 100-home affordable housing community named Hampshire Terrace was located from 1971-2011. Prior to the tornado, it was a very desirable place to live. Miller-Valentine Group will be replacing the 1970s community with beautiful new apartment homes. Modern architecture and contemporary floor plans will take full advantage of the great location and provide residents with state of the art amenities.
James Fenwick, President of Residential Property Management for Miller-Valentine Group, gladly commented on Hampshire Landing, “We are eager to be a part of the reinvestment in Joplin. Providing brand new housing to former residents addresses a significant problem in the area. Miller-Valentine Group is excited to bring high-quality housing at affordable prices to those who need it most. It is our honor to encourage other businesses to return to or begin operations in Joplin.”
Although it is proud to be a residential property developer investing in rebuilding Joplin, Miller-Valentine Group did not undertake this project alone. Mercy Housing and the Economic Security Corporation partnered with Miller-Valentine Group to see the Hampshire Landing project move into the initial construction phase. The new community is designed to provide connectivity to the surrounding area and honor the character of the original multi-family community it replaces.
