VIDEO: Dolphin rescue off Kona caught on camera

KONA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Divers in Hawaii lent a hand to a dolphin in need, and the encounter was all caught on camera. Video taken by MantaraysHawaii.com shows a bottlenose dolphin approach a diver who notices his fin is entangled in fishing line.

The diver is seen using a knife to cut away the line, and the dolphin swims away.

The group was on a night dive Jan. 11 to view manta rays off the coast of Kona, Hawaii. They say they have helped free manta rays from entanglement before and that the dolphin appeared to be approaching them for help.
