The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team dropped a straight set decision to ninth-ranked Long Beach State, Saturday, in the second of two Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matches at the Walter Pyramid. Set scores were 25-14, 25-18, 25-18.
One night after nearly winning a five-setter, the Warriors (1-6, 0-4 MPSF) came out flat and struggled offensively, hitting only .119. In contrast, the Beach (5-2, 3-1) hit a blistering .455 and tallied seven service aces and 10 blocks.
Brook Sedore came off the bench to lead UH with eight kills. Nick West had four kills and two blocks.
The Warriors return to Honolulu to host Pepperdine, Jan. 25 & 27, at the Stan Sheriff Center.
