LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Ocean Safety Bureau officials have closed all north shore beaches today due to high surf and strong currents.

Waves with faces between 15- to 30-feet high have been reported resulting in hazardous ocean conditions.

Beachgoers are urged to go to other guarded beaches on the island including: Lydgate; Po'ipû; or Salt Pond.

For more information about ocean conditions, please ask a county lifeguard, log on to www.kauaiexplorer.com, or call the Ocean Safety Bureau at 241-6506.
