Woman arrested after kicking HPD officer in face

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu Police have arrested a woman who they say kicked an officer in the face.

The incident occurred Saturday, Jan. 12 in downtown Honolulu. Shortly before 5:20 p.m., police were called to Bethel Street to respond to a report of a woman breaking things in an unnamed lounge.

When police arrived, the 47-year-old suspect ran away. Officers issued an APB for the woman, and another on-duty officer found her a short time later. When the officer tried to take her into custody, she became aggressive and started swearing at him. Then she kicked the officer in the face, police say.

HPD eventually gained control of the suspect and arrested her for suspected property damage and assault on an officer.
