HONOLULU – Laura Beeman's Rainbow Wahine basketball team is
hitting its stride. With a 65-57 win
over Long Beach State Sunday evening, UH is now 3-1 in league play, tied for
the second best mark in the Big West.
The Wahine are now 7-8 overall after ending their non-conference
schedule at 4-7.
Kamilah Martin once again led the way for the Wahine,
scoring 27 points on 10-17 shooting. She
also grabbed 13 rebounds.
Even more impressive was how the Wahine controlled the
action for the vast majority of the game.
UH took the lead on a Vicky Tagalicod layup with 7:08 left in the first
half, and never trailed again.
The Wahine next play on Thursday at Pacific.
