High surf advisory for east-facing shores extended to Monday

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The high surf advisory that was issued for east facing shores has been extended until Monday at 6 p.m.

The advisory has been issued for the islands of Kaui, Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and the Big Island.

Waves are expected to be between 8 and 12 feet, and will decrease to 7 to 10 feet on Monday.

Beach goers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by Ocean Safety officials as possible rip currents will make it difficult and dangerous to swim.
