WAIALAE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Dean Wilson eagled on his final hole of the day to make the cut for the Sony Open, Friday.
The Castle high school graduate carded 15 par's, a bogey and a birdie before reaching the 9th hole at Waialae Country Club. With the weekend cut line sitting at two-under, Wilson's 3rd shot on the par-5 9th found the green, bounced three times and fell directly into the cup for an eagle. He carded a two-under 68 for the round.
Through 36 holes Wilson sits in a tie for 44th place at 3-under par. It's the first time since 2010 that Wilson will be playing on Saturday, he is set to tee off at 11:30am (HST) from the first tee.
