Flu Season, Teachers Talks, Elvis Concert Giveaway

ARM YOURSELF FOR FLU SEASON

If what's happening on the Mainland is any indication, this year's flu is a nasty one. The season came early and cases are more severe than last year. There have been confirmed cases in Hawaii and officials say our peak season is normally a month behind. Been putting off your flu shot? Now's the time to do it. Ramsay Wharton will have details on Sunrise.

TEACHERS TALKS RESUME

Two years later, still no deal. Today, the Teachers Union will present a counter-proposal to the State's last contract offer. Hawaii News Now will be following any new developments.

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?

Day two of PGA play for the Sony Open begins this morning. There was a wild moment yesterday when one golfer's shot hit the green only to crash right into another ball close to the pin, and send both flying in opposite directions. Jennifer Robbins will report from Waialae Country Club.

ELVIS 40TH ANNIVERSARY ALOHA FROM HAWAII CELEBRATION

40 years after Elvis rocked Hawaii, a concert featuring the King himself will honor the historic music moment. We're giving out tickets. To enter, email Sunrise@HawaiiNewsNow.com.

All that plus your weekend forecast and the Good, Bad, and What Were they Thinking ahead on Sunrise!

Aloha,

Tannya Joaquin
