First Alert Forecast: First Alert Day and some real fall weather

(WTOL) -

A First Alert Day has been issued for today

A low pressure area will linger over the Great Lakes region the next couple days.  This will bring colder, windy weather through much of the week.

A chance of rain will continue tonight with west winds gusting to 35 mph.

Winds Tuesday will turn southwest, though this will not bring any warmer air into the area.

Scattered showers are likely with winds gusting to 35 mph at times. If you are looking for dry weather this work week Thursday is your best bet.

The coming weekend may bring the first freeze of the fall season.
