HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
A 68-year-old male visitor was taken to the hospital in serious condition on Friday after nearly drowning in waters off of Waikiki, according to paramedics.
The incident happened at approximately 11:00 a.m., when a stand-up paddler reportedly found the man floating face down offshore of the Hilton Hawaiian Village. He appeared to have been snorkeling, paramedics said.
When Ocean Safety officials responded, the patient had a
pulse. Lifeguards began rescue breathing on the patient until EMS arrived, when the man was transported to an area
hospital in serious condition.
