East bound lanes of Harano Tunnel the H-3 reopen after fuel spill, accidents

The H-3 Freeway's Harano Tunnel was closed to all traffic in the Kaneohe-bound direction on Thursday afternoon due to a fuel spill and multi vehicle accident, according to the Honolulu Police Department.

All lanes were reopened at around 1:45 p.m.

Police say that a semi-truck traveling east on the freeway jack knifed and leaked diesel fuel on the roadway. The Hawaii Fire Department was called in to assist with the cleanup. Three additional accidents in the same area were also reported.
