Foam Factory announces move and expansion of company, creating triple the space for faster service and greater inventory.
Clinton Township, MI (PRWEB) December 30, 2012
To keep pace with consumer demand and continued growth, Foam Factory -- manufacturer and distributor of custom chair cushion foam, rubber, sponge and upholstery products -- is proud to announce the relocation and expansion of its business to 17500 23 Mile Road in Macomb Township, Michigan, a move tentatively slated for late 2013.
Acquired in December 2011, the future site of Foam Factory totals approximately 309,000 square feet, more than three times the size of its current facility at 22800 Hall Road in Clinton Township, Michigan. The increase in space will allow Foam Factory to carry greater inventory for faster service, as well as provide the room needed to introduce new products. It will also allow the addition of more machinery, increasing the speed of manufacturing and fabrication.
Formerly the home of Nachi America, Inc., the building is located less than seven miles from Foam Factory’s current location, ensuring that they will continue to provide quick and convenient service to its local customer base in Southeast Michigan. The company’s product line and services include custom seat cushions, foam mattresses and toppers, and acoustical treatment. In addition to walk-in customers, Foam Factory’s ever-growing online customer base will see improvements in selection and speed as well, with a greater volume of orders able to be processed.
The increase in inventory and machinery also means Foam Factory will need to increase staffing. The move is anticipated to triple its current workforce of approximately 30 employees, creating jobs at a time when many businesses are struggling.
To meet the needs of the business, Foam Factory has already begun significant renovations to the facility. Updates include the installation of new loading docks and door systems, as well as an overhaul of the existing sprinkler and fire alarm system. Additional parking is also planned for walk-in customers.
This will be the fourth move in Foam Factory history, each one providing a necessary increase in space to keep pace with business. Foam Factory was founded in Roseville, Michigan in 1980, with their original facility totaling only 1,900 square feet in space.
