(HawaiiNewsNow) - At precisely 7:00 p.m. a twelve-foot tall, six-foot round lighted pineapple will drop from the 40 foot flag pole near the Consolidated Theatres in the town center of Mililani to coincide with the ball drop in Times Square.
It's the perfect way for families with little kids to enjoy the fun and festivities of New Year's Eve without having to stay out late.
And for those parents who intend to go out, there's plenty of time to get the kids to the babysitter's and get ready for Hawai'i's New Year's Eve.
The Deadbeats, who just released their second CD "Do You," will be rocking the stage from 6:00 p.m. until the Pineapple Drop. After which American Idol finalist Camile Velasco will be on stage featuring the band TTYM and followed by the up-and-coming Mililani band Crimson Apple, with lead singer Colby Benson also from American Idol fame.
There will be clowns, games and food booths, plus fire crackers and confetti cannons during the pineapple drop.
