Sen. Inouye Honored, Puppy Mill Justice, Fiscal Cliff Nears

Aloha! Coming up on the news at 5 & 5:30...

Friends, family and colleagues of fallen Senator Daniel Inouye gather to pay tribute to the man. Inouye served more in years in the U.S. Senate than all but one other senator. Tonight, the Medal of Honor winner lays in state in our nation's Capitol rotunda. Keoki Kerr will have a live report from Washington D.C. on today's ceremony. Check out our slideshow from today's service in Washington.

Honolulu City Prosecutor, Keith Kaneshiro, spoke out against what he calls a light animal cruelty sentence for David Becker. Becker was convicted of 153 counts of animal cruelty and was sentenced to time served. Becker is now a free man. Tim Sakahara reports that Kaneshiro feels justice has not been done.

Also, was severe weather to blame for a big mess at a local college? Crews spent part of the day cleaning up a ficus and a coconut tree that came down in front of Hemenway Hall. Plus, Guy Hagi will have your forecast for the next week, all the way through Christmas day.

Plus, U.H. officially introduces their new athletics director--Ben Jay. Sports Director, Chris Tanaka was there and has that story.

And, we're coming down to the wire as the so-called 'fiscal cliff' nears. Tonight, what the President says he willing to do to get a deal done before the end of the year deadline.

This and much more tonight at 5 and 5:30 on KGMB and KHNL.

I hope to see you then!
