MANOA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Honolulu, Hawaii, announces a re-organization of its education offerings at Lutheran High School of Hawaii (LHSH) and Our Redeemer Lutheran Elementary School.
The Lutheran High School of Hawaii will expand from its current four-year program of ninth through twelfth grades to include seventh and eighth grades beginning with the 2013-2014 academic year.
Our Redeemer Lutheran Elementary School will not re-open its programs for preschool, kindergarten, and the first through sixth grades for the 2013-2014 academic year. Our Redeemer Lutheran has operated an elementary school since 1948 when it began as a kindergarten on Young Street before opening with first grade and transitioning to the University Avenue location.
When the lower-grade students enroll for next year they are encouraged to do so at one of the other Lutheran schools on Oahu: Our Savior Lutheran School in Aiea, Saint Mark Lutheran School in Kaneohe, Trinity Lutheran School in Wahiawa, or Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool in Kalihi.
