Police were able to take a suspect into custody at around 7 a.m. after a barricade situation took place at a home in Ewa Beach on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old man threatened to harm himself and set the property on fire.
Authorities staged themselves near the Ewa Beach Community Park and coned the area off for a portion of the morning while they tried to make contact with the man inside the home.
The investigation began around midnight when police received a call from a relative who was concerned about the suspect, who will now undergo a mental health evaluation.
The case has been opened up as terroristic threatening in the second degree.
