(HawaiiNewsNow)- Mâlama Mânoa will be observing its 20th anniversary celebration on Thursday, December 13, 2012, from 5:30- 9:00 p.m., in the Mânoa Grand Ballroom at the Japanese Cultural Center. . There will be performances by Punahou students and they will be honoring community leaders who have contributed to the message of Malama Manoa. The mission of Mâlama Mânoa is to promote community; celebrate our cultural diversity and heritage; and preserve, protect, and enhance the special qualities of historic Manoa Valley.
Mâlama Mânoa requests your kokua by assisting us to disseminate and promote our 20th anniversary celebration which includes a gala dinner honoring three invaluable Mânoa community leaders who have continued to support and work toward the mission of Mâlama Mânoa for two decades:
George Arizumi: for his dedication to preserving and protecting the natural environment of our valley through his leadership in cleaning Mânoa Stream.
Mary Cooke: for her tireless promotion of community both as co-founder of Mâlama Mânoa and of the Mânoa Heritage Center.
Linda LeGrande: for her continuing efforts to build awareness of Mânoa's architectural heritage and craftsmanship through the Historic Mânoa Walking Tour.
