HONOLULU – UH Basketball Head Coach Gib Arnold expressed concern earlier in the week about Pepperdine's deliberate, slow pace of play.
His concerns were validated Saturday night.
The Waves dictated tempo at the Stan Sheriff Center, sending the Rainbow Warriors to their second straight loss, 63-56.
Pepperdine controlled the first half, allowing only 23 points to UH while building an 8 point lead at intermission.
UH was able to close within a point in the second half, however, a quick 9-3 pushed the Waves lead to 9 points at 52-43. From there, it was more ball control, as they notched their 6th win of the season.
Vander Joaquim and Isaac Fotu led the way for UH. Fotu had 12 points and 9 rebounds, while Joaquim had 10 points and 8 rebounds.
