Big Island police say a man was killed in a single vehicle crash in South Kona Wednesday.
It happened at around 8:45 a.m. on route 11 (Hawaii Belt Road) between 96/97 mile area markers.
Police say a 2008 Ford F-50 pickup truck ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
The driver has been identified as Marcus Aickin of Ocean View. The 38-year-old was wearing a seatbelt. No one else was in the vehicle.
The cause is under investigation.
