Poles Down, Kauai Thunderstorm Delays, Manti Te'o Heisman Preview

TRAFFIC ALERT: POLES BLOCKING SALT LAKE BOULEVARD

Westbound lanes of Salt Lake Boulevard remain closed because of downed utility poles between Kalaloa Street and Kamehameha Highway. Power has been restored, but HECO crews are still stringing the electrical wires between the new poles.

HAPPENING NOW: LANES REOPENED AFTER HYDRANT HIT

Mauka bound lanes of Paiwa street near the Waikele Shopping Center have just reopened after a truck hit a fire hydrant. It was closed for a few hours between the H-1 west off ramp and the entrance beside the outlet mall.

SEVERE WEATHER TRAVEL IMPACT

Thunderstorms that swept over Kauai last night have caused travel delays. Hawaiian Airlines had to cancel at least 5 flights last night. Four from Lihue to Honolulu, one the other direction.
