Downed utility poles cause closure of portion of Salt Lake Blvd., Water main break on Wilder Ave. left 7 homes without water, Typhoon causes flooding in Philippines

DOWNED UTILITY POLES CAUSE CLOSURE OF PORTION OF SALT LAKE BLVD

HECO says 1200 customers are without power Tuesday morning due to a power outage in Salt Lake. Honolulu police have closed Salt Lake Boulevard from Kamehameha Highway to Kalaloa Street due to three downed utility poles that are blocking the road.

12-INCH WATER MAIN BREAK ON WILDER AVE. LEFT 7 HOMES WITHOUT WATER

Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews have completed repairs to a 12-inch main break at 1939 Wilder Avenue located between Evelyn Lane and Oliver Street. Water service was restored to affected customers at approximately 5:00 a.m. On Tuesday. A portion of the far right Kokohead bound lane is closed as crews conduct repairs to the road. An update will be provided when the crews have completed road repairs.

Deadly flooding in the Philippines from a typhoon has claimed dozens of lives. A governor says at least 33 villagers and soldiers drowned when water dumped by the storm rushed down a mountain and engulfed the victims. Floodwaters also swept away a truck transporting troops and villagers.
