HONOLULU – The Warriors ended a rough season with a rough
and tumble effort against South Alabama, winning 23-7. They finish the campaign at 3-9 in Norm Chow's
first year as head coach.
The defense produced 6 sacks, and the offense ground down
the Jaguars defense with 229 yards rushing.
The Warriors got several standout efforts on both sides of
the ball. Defensively, Mike Edwards made
the play of the game, intercepting a pass in the end zone on the first
possession of the game. Senior Paipai
Falemalu had a sack and played inspired ball.
Offensively, Joey Iosefa , whorushed for 97 yards, threw a
50 yard strike to Billy Ray Stutzmann out of the wildcat formation after the
Edwards interception. The play was part
of an 80 yard drive which ended with a Sterling Jackson 1-yard touchdown run to
open the scoring.
Sean Schroeder was 10-21, for 131 passing yards with a
touchdown pass and two interceptions.
His 26 yard strike to Chris Gant in the 3rd quarter made the
score 23-0.
Tyler Hadden added 3 field goals for the team.
17 stuedent athletes said goodbye, playing their final game
for the school.
