Both the Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wahine basketball
teams were in action Saturday. Both
teams lost their nonconference games.
Utah 62, Wahine 61
Laura Beeman's squad fell behind the Utes early, trailing
34-18 at the half. The squad came storming back in the 2nd
half, outscoring Utah 43-28. UH had a
chance to win, but ultimately lost 62-61.
Kamilah Martin led the way with 22 points and 7 rebounds.
#24 UNLV 77, Rainbow Warriors 63
Gib Arnold's team suffered a slow first half in Las Vegas,
trailing by as many as 25 points in the first half to the #24 Runnin'
Rebels. Like the Wahine, they responded
in the 2nd half, getting to within 8 points of UNLV. However, the Rebs closed out the game,
handing the ‘Bows their second loss of the year.
Christian Standhardinger led the way with 27 points and 10
rebounds, while Vander Joaquim added 12 points and 9 rebounds.
