Fire crews were called to the scene of an apartment fire in Waipahu Wednesday evening,

The fire at 94-232 Ani Ani Place started just after 6 p.m. at a two story apartment building. When fire crews arrived they saw heavy smoke and flames and called for additional help.

HFD say two men and one woman, who were inside units at the time of the fire, got out safely.

Firefighters put the flames out about 6:40 p.m.

No one suffered major injuries, but the female resident complained of smoke inhalation. She refused treatment.

An HFD spokesperson says it appears the fire may have started in two of the top floor units which were boarded up and unoccupied.

The Red Cross has been called to assist the three residents displaced by the fire which caused an estimated $280,000 in damage.
