WAIPAHU, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Fire crews were called to the
scene of an apartment fire in Waipahu Wednesday evening,
The fire at 94-232 Ani Ani Place started just
after 6 p.m. at a two story apartment building. When fire crews arrived they
saw heavy smoke and flames and called for additional help.
HFD say two men and one woman, who were inside units at the
time of the fire, got out safely.
Firefighters put the flames
out about 6:40 p.m.
No one suffered major injuries, but
the female resident complained of smoke inhalation. She refused treatment.
An HFD spokesperson says it
appears the fire may have started in two of the top floor units which were
boarded up and unoccupied.
The Red Cross has been called to assist the three residents
displaced by the fire which caused an estimated $280,000 in damage.
