Owens named CFL's Most Outstanding Player

Toronto (HawaiiNewsNow) – Toronto receiver/kick returner Chad Owens won the Most Outstanding Player award Thursday night an awards banquet for the Canadian Football League.

The former Warrior and Roosevelt high school graduate took 41 of the 57 possible votes among CFL coaches and reporters. Owens led the CFL with 1,328 receiving yards (to go with 94 receptions and 6 touchdowns) and set a CFL record with 3,863 total yards from scrimmage.

Owens has been the catalyst for the Toronto Argonauts this season who are vying for their first Grey Cup championship since 2004.
