HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Retail gas prices fell again over the past week throughout Hawaii, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.
The Hawaii state average for regular unleaded declined by eight cents during the week to $4.09 per gallon which was 33 cents less than last month and a nickel lower than last year.
Honolulu's average price dropped to $4.00 a gallon for regular unleaded – 10 cents less than last week, 34 cents less than last month and a penny higher than a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.04 a gallon, down seven cents from last week, 38 cents less than last month and 26 cents less than this time last year. Wailuku's average is $4.26 a gallon, three cents less than last week, 30 cents less than last month and 16 cents lower than last year.
"This Thanksgiving week we've experienced more price drops at the retail pump which help the budgets of locals and holiday travelers," said AAA Hawaii Branch Supervisor Cynthia Hall. "Honolulu is a dime less a gallon than last week, and our state average is a nickel less than last year, which is also good news for everyone, too."
