LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Construction is slated to begin Tuesday on a 650-room hotel aimed to be the anchor of a metropolitan center located in downtown Las Vegas.

Developers Fifth Street Gaming is touting Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino as the anchor of a stretch of 3rd Street that includes 18 bars and restaurants, between Stewart Avenue and Ogden Avenue.

Establishments like Triple George Grill and Mob Bar are already in business on 3rd Street.
