HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A day after the University of Hawaii Board of Regents decided to retain her as president, M.R.C. launched a series of community forums in which she will visit all ten UH campuses statewide.

The first community forum was held Friday afternoon at Honolulu Community College. Greenwood was accompanied by regents James Lee and Chuck Gee and university Vice President Linda Johnsrud. Nearly all of the people attending the forum were HCC faculty members, and the discussion focused on issues regarding that campus.

UH called the forums an opportunity for the public and members of the school community, including students, faculty, staff and alumni, to share their thoughts on the university and its future. After the meeting, Greenwood did not discuss the recent turmoil surrounding her.

"I'm really pleased that we can get on and do the serious work of the university," said Greenwood. "This is a partnership that works together, and I know we can make a lot of progress in the future.

"I consider it over and done, and we'll see what comes next," she concluded. "I think Lynne (Waters, UH Associate Vice President) said, 'we've closed one chapter.' We're moving ahead."

Lee and Gee also declined comment.
