AAA: Hawaii gas prices drop again

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Retail gas prices fell again over the past week throughout Hawaii, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.

The Hawaii state average for regular unleaded declined by eight cents during the week to $4.16 per gallon which was 28 cents less than last month and a penny higher than last year.

Honolulu's average price dropped to $4.09 a gallon for regular unleaded – eight cents less than last week,  28 cents less than last month and eight cents higher than a year ago.

In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.10 a gallon, down 14 cents from last week, 28 cents less than last month and eight cents more than this time last year.

Wailuku's average is $4.29 a gallon, 10 cents less than last week, 26 cents less than last month and 14 cents lower than last year.

"As we approach Thanksgiving week, more price declines have appeared at the retail pump," said AAA Hawaii Regional Manager Diane Peterson. "Only two states in the country still have $4 a-gallon-plus prices: Hawaii and Alaska.  The Alaska state average is at $4.00 a gallon today."
