Kamehameha Hwy reopened after oil spill

MILILANI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kamehameha Highway between Lanikuahana Avenue and Ka Uka Boulevard has been reopened after an oil spill shut down the highway Thursday morning.

An oily substance was found along about a quarter mile stretch of road. Originally traffic was being contra-flowed through the area, but a vehicle spun out due to the oil. No injuries were reported.

Fire crews arrived on scene to clean the roads.

It is not clear what caused the spill.
