KAHULUI, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Maui police on Wednesday charged two men in connection with two armed robberies at Maui gas stations.

Bronson Foster-Benson, 21, and Namon Kalani Parks, 31, were charged with two counts of robbery in the first degree. There bail was set at $100,000 and both remain in custody.

A third man arrested, 20-year-old Ty-Rhone Rodrigues, was released pending further investigation.

Maui police say the first incident happened around 5 a.m. on Tuesday at the Port Town Chevron gas station located at 109 Kaahumanu Avenue in Kahului.

Police say two men approached the store, one walked inside while the other remained at the front door.

The man who walked inside approached the counter, pointed a handgun at the two employees and demanded the money. The two men took an estimated $300 and took off towards Lono Avenue.

Police say the men then fled the area in an unknown vehicle.

Around 6 a.m. police were called to a second armed robbery at the mini mart of the Kihei Chevron Gas Station located at 1281 S. Kihei Road.

Police say a man entered the mini mart, brandished a pistol, and demanded money from the register, while the second suspect stood just outside of the entrance.

The two suspects took off with an estimated $131.

Police say the descriptions of the two men matched the descriptions of the men that robbed the Port Town Chevron in Kahului.

Investigators identified the suspects involved as Bronson Foster-Benson and Namon Kalani Parks.

Police located both men just before 5 p.m. in a car parked at 1847 South Kihei Road. A third man who was also in the car, Ty-Rhone Rodrigues, was placed under arrest.
