Stabbing Arrest, President Faces Press, Signing Day

STABBING SUSPECT ARRESTED

A 21 year old woman was arrested and released in connection with yesterday's stabbing in Waikiki. Police say Marsha Hoffman, who was arrested last week for solicitation of prostitution met the 29 year old victim in Waikiki and the two went back to her condo. That's where an argument broke out and the man suffered a stab wound in the abdomen. He's now in serious condition.

HIKER RESCUE

A 70 year old woman was rescued in critical condition after her family reported her missing. The woman was found unresponsive in Ahuimanu after not returning home from a trip to pick fruit.

PRESIDENT FACES PRESS

President Obama will face the press today for the first time since his re-election. He's expected to be grilled about the deadly Embassy attack in Benghazi, the fiscal cliff, and the resignation of his CIA director over an extramarital affair. We'll bring you the press conference live when it happens during Sunrise.

SIGNING DAY

Decision day for Hawaii's top high school athletes. The "Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance" early national letter of intent signing happens at 7 this morning. Jennifer Robbins will have live coverage as students who play volleyball, softball, golf, tennis and other sports choose their colleges.

SMOKING BAN BILL

Happening today, we'll be following the first reading of a proposed smoking ban at 7 popular parks including Kapiolani Park, Sandy Beach and parts of Ala Moana Park.

MAYOR'S BUS PLAN

Also today, Mayor-elect Kirk Caldwell is expected to discuss a plan to restore bus service. 26 routes were impacted by an effort to cut the City's public transportation budget by about 7-million dollars annually.

MANTI TE'O

Hawaii's Heisman hopeful is in the national spotlight for Notre Dame's wins, but he's also suffered devastating personal losses. The Punahou alum learned he lost his Grandmother and girlfriend in the same day. Steve Uyehara is on the road, with exclusive reports on Manti Te'o. He'll have live reports coming up at 6 on Sunrise.
