KANEOHE, Hawaii (AP) - An attorney for former Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan pleaded not guilty on behalf of the former star accused of driving under the influence of alcohol.
District Court Judge Dean Ochiai in Kaneohe on Tuesday set a trial for Jan. 2 for Brennan. Brennan did not attend the hearing.
Brennan was arrested in Kailua in July. Police said in their report that Brennan had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.17%. Police said they also found a plastic bag with cocaine residue in the rented car Brennan was driving, but prosecutors decided against drug charges, saying they couldn't fully prove the drugs belonged to Brennan.
Attorney Maria Carmichael entered the plea for Brennan on behalf of his main attorney, Michael Green.
Brennan set 31 records during his three years at Hawaii.
