Iolani standout infielder Christian Donahue has verbally committed to Oregon State. He is scheduled to be part of the class of 2014.
The shortstop has been widely recruited by such schools as Hawaii, Oregon, USC, UCLA, Northwestern and his father's alma mater, Washington, among others.
He will join KJ Harrison in Corvallis. Harrison, a catcher at Punahou, had previously committed to the Beavers.
Christian's father Timo, who starred at Damien and later played for the Huskies, said it was simply a matter of Oregon State being the best fit academically and athletically.
