Police say man tried to kidnap girl at Windward Mall

Police are searching for a man who they say tried to force a 19-year-old girl into his car on Tuesday, November 6.

Police say at 3:40 p.m., the victim exited the Macy's Store located at Windward Mall and was walking through the parking lot toward the bus stop when she was approached by the man.

Police say he grabbed her arm and attempted to force her into a white colored four door sedan, possibly a Honda.

The victim resisted and was aided by another woman who was in the area.

Police say the witness left the area before officers arrived; HPD is asking her to come forward with more information.

The suspect is described as a man around 30 to 40-years-old, 5'9" to 6'0", 190 to 200 pounds and brown hair with an unshaven gray beard.
