HONOLULU
– (Hawaii Athletics) The University of Hawai‘i Warrior Volleyball team will play an intrasquad
scrimmage Saturday, Nov. 17 at Waiākea High School at 7:00 p.m. There will be
no admission charge for the scrimmage, but donations can be made to the
American Heart Association on behalf of former UH swimmer and Waiākea graduate
Peter "Frank" Chi who passed away last month.
"This is a great opportunity to showcase our team to fans on the Big
Island," said UH Head Coach Charlie Wade. "I'm glad we have this chance for
fans outside of O‘ahu to see what we hope will be an entertaining brand of
volleyball."
Players and coaches will also be available for autographs following the match.
Wade enters his fourth season at the helm of the men's volleyball team and
brings with him a veteran group of players. He and the Warriors are hoping to
make a return to the MSPF Tournament this coming season.
Hawai‘i opens the season hosting BYU in a pair of matches on Jan. 4 & 5,
2013.
