Visitor pulled from waters off Waikiki

WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A 51-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after he nearly drowned in waters off Waikiki Wednesday.

It is unclear at this point exactly what happened, but paramedics were called to tower 2b at 2405 Kalakaua Avenue around 3:30 p.m.

Lifeguards performed CPR on the beach before paramedics took the man to the hospital.

Officials say the man is a visitor and his family went with him to the hospital.
