Ocean Safety officials say there have been 145 box jellyfish stings reported in Waikiki as of 3 p.m. Thursday.

Warning signs are posted at Waikiki and Ala Moana beaches.

Lifeguards say 118 jellyfish washed up in Waikiki, while 15 have been counted at Ala Moana Beach Park.

There have been no stings reported at Ala Moana.

12 stings were reported on Wednesday in Waikiki.

Swimmers should check with lifeguards and avoid going into the water if they are allergic to stings from the jellyfish, which generally show up nine or ten days after a full moon.
