Auto fire closes part of H-1 Freeway near Punahou

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An auto fire closed a part of the H-1 Freeway Wednesday morning.

Honolulu police closed the H-1 Freeway going eastbound between Bingham and Wilder. Officers asked drivers to turn around and take the Punahou exit in order to get out of the area.

Westbound lanes in this section of the freeway are open. Both directions were originally closed.

The Honolulu Fire Department is on scene and have put out the fire.

The driver was not injured.
